This is a training program for individuals working with children birth to five years old, which combines classroom instruction with on-the-job-training and support. This training is a career pathway program leading to early childhood related fields. Upon completion of the Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship (ECE) participants will have gained knowledge & skills in the following content areas: Planning a safe and healthy learning environment; Advancing children’s physical and intellectual development; Supporting children’s social and emotional development; Building productive relationships with families; Managing an effective program; Maintaining a commitment to professionalism; Observing and recording children’s behavior; and Understanding principles of child development and learning. Successful program completers will also be awarded the nationally recognized Child Development Associate (CDA) Certificate and a US Department of Labor Early Childhood Education Apprenticeship Certificate.
