Welding CV Processes

This Certificate of Achievement includes skill training in the GMAW and FCAW welding processes and welding symbols and print reading. Courses in the welding CV processes certificate of achievement program guide the student through a series of process skills using various current welding processes. The types of welding process training include GMAW (MIG), FCAW (Flux cored), and OXY-FUEL and PLASMA cutting. Materials welded include mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Courses offered prepare the student for entry level and advanced level employment, job enhancement, and may also transfer to the welding technologies certificate, associates degree in occupational/technical studies, or a bachelor’s degree program. Courses offered can also provide the skill set necessary to successfully complete welder certification testing required by many welding companies.

Prerequisite Coursework, Certification, or Experience
Participants must have a high school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
Acceptable Forms of Verification: High School diploma, GED, or equivalent
Placement Test
Participants must take placement test(s) to enroll and may be placed on a particular track within the program based on score(s).
Acceptable Forms of Verification: ACT or SAT Scores, take a Placement Test at KVCC, or completed a college level course in English and/or math with a "C" or better.
Prerequisite Coursework, Certification, or Experience
Participants must have completed a course or series of courses at the college level.
Acceptable Forms of Verification: Transcript stating that you completed the prerequisite for the course you are enrolling in.
